It is very fast and controls speakers very well. It can be pretty unforgiving of anything poor feeding it as I found when I auditioned it.

If an amplifier has a minimum impedance of 4 ohm & you bridge them then the impedance increases to 8 ohms & in that instance careful speaker matching is a must. You also increase the noise floor when you bridge amps.

On one hand it a bit behind the best amplifiers from those camps, but those are more concentrated on their assets, and the Luxman can probably play everything on the same high level. A problem is, that it needs a high class preamplifier.
WebNov 2, 2024 · I don’t want to loose the Luxman’s driving capabilities. I can certainly say the Gryphon, Boulder have TREMENDOUS driving capability. There is a 'reaching down to bedrock' feeling of both amps which is a lot of fun when you experience it. The Gryphon (i am guessing) probably has a tonality that might be closer to your Luxman than the Boulder.
