WebApr 4, 2024 · I have a consolidation result (Sample depth 26’, groundwater at 3’from existing grade) that shows the soil is overconsolidated with Pc=7.5 ksf. The test was performed as loading 0.1, .25, .5, 1, 2, 4, 1, .25, .5, 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 4, 1, .25 ksf. Lab test shows soil type is CL, natural moisture 81%, PL=32, LL=91. It’s in coastal area. It was indicated from the test results that cyclic strength of underconsolidated clay was more uniquely defined by the degree of consolidation in terms of effective stress than volumetric strain. WebSeveral series of uni-directional and multi-directional cyclic simple shear tests under undrained condition were carried out for normally consolidated Kaolin. From the test results it is shown that the accumulation of pore water pressure and the post-cyclic settlement increase with the shear strain amplitude and the phase difference.
