Recently the 2011 Macbook Air we had since launch started heating up more, and I suspect the paste just stopped being as effective. Changing it did the trick, as the temperatures seem to be back to normal now. B. WebSep 4, 2024 · Thanks. Yes it's a 2016 13". Yeah basically that's the issue, I've only found one person who has done it to their Macbook Pro (which is the link you posted). I know that it's used more for desktops and that it's reusable, but the biggest advantage for me is that it doesn't need to be changed every 3 or so years.

This usually means that the CPU temperature won't ever exceed 90°C. If the temperature goes over 90°C, the hardware will start increasing fan RPM until the temperature stays at 90°C.
